This comment is one of the fewstatements that can be heard coming from the mouths ofboth sexes. time typically associated with shopping, andthus automatically, and unfairly, females, going to the mallhas mutual attractions to both males and females. Since themassive increase of shopping malls in this country, thepopularity of "going to the mall" has increased a thousand heap for everyone. For females the reason that "going to themall" is so popular is very clear. Females were alwaystaught that their rightful place is at home taking care of theirfamilies (this statement is aid without trying to soundchauvinistic). When the car made a sudden impact on theworld during the middle part of the century, even moreresponsibilitys were added to the married womans list of "to dos."The married woman no longer just took care of the family. She nowwas able to go out and shop for food, clothes, or anythingelse that her family may need. In a sense the wife now hadmore freedom to take care of the family by being awayfrom the home more. Today women are no different thentheir 1950s counterparts. While contemporary women aremuch more free-minded about their own place in society,there still lies the motherly instinct to go out and acquirefor the family. This instinct may change in time, but until thatchange occurs this cause shall remain as the chief reasonwhy women "got to the mall" or "go shopping." ...
